Statement

Accumulation, collection, and archiving/archival theory is woven into Reed's art practice. They often work with fiber, graphite, photography, and other found or used materials. I find myself constantly entangled in the illusion that entities come into existence out of nowhere and then disappear back into nothingness after their ‘use’. Shifting attention toward the unwanted, forgoten, and discarded is a way I try to counteract this messaging.

Bio

Reed Davidson (they/them) is a multi-media artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. They attended Ohio State University for their BFA with a focus in painting and drawing. In 2023, they moved to Pittsburgh and are now studying Archives, Resources, and Services at the University of Pittsburgh.
